Introducing the Akura™ Twin Microplate

Unique well design

The Akura™ Twin Microplate features a conical well structure with SureXchange™ ledge, which safeguards spheroid and organoid cells from aspiration. This design facilitates near-complete medium exchange, ensuring precise dosing and minimizing experimental variation. Additionally, the stable ULA coating in both the well and microchannel maintains spheroid and organoid morphology while preventing immune cell adhesion during long-term culture, making it ideal for rigorous scientific applications.

Versatile Readout Methods

Explore versatile readout methods with InSphero’s system, allowing flexible access to supernatants using either manual or automated pipetting. You can effortlessly retrieve spheroids in parallel, ideal when conducting lytic assays, histology, or RNA sequencing. Its flat and highly transparent COP bottom enables in-situ high-content imaging with minimal optical aberration. This ensures that images are clear and accurate, thereby enhancing the reliability of experimental data.

Universal plate standards

Relying on universal plate standards, the Akura™ Twin Microplate adheres to the ANSI/SLAS standard format for quick implementation with widely used lab tools and full compatibility with automation and robotic liquid handlers. The standard plate dimensions, excellent planarity, and 384-well format enable rapid, seamless scale-up of experimental protocols. This allows efficient assay development and testing of a broad range of compounds and concentrations without limitations. Automation can seamlessly handle many experimental workflows, such as cell seeding, medium exchange, spheroid transfer, compound dosing, and supernatant sampling.
