Microfluidic Fittings 1/32" to 1/16" OD Size Adapter Kit
An adapter kit to use 1/32" OD tubing with fittings designed for 1/16" OD tubing. Includes 1/16" OD FEP Microfluidic Sleeves (x10) and PTFE Teflon capillary microtube fitted to 1/32″ (0.76 mm) OD x 300 µm ID (30 m).
General
1/32" OD tubing is commonly used in microfluidics low flow rate applications, but is not easy to interface. This kit allows you to use 1/32" PTFE capillary tubing with fittings designed for 1/16" OD tubing:
- No need to use fittings for 1/32” OD tubing
- Compatible with threaded fittings like ¼-28 & 10-32 for 1/16" OD tubing
- Installable in a few seconds
- Contains PTFE capillary tubing fitted to 1/32″ OD x 300 µm ID (30 m)

PTFE Teflon capillary microtube fitted to 1/32″ (0.76 mm) OD x 300 µm ID (30 m): PTFE Teflon tubing can handle extremely high temperatures in harsh chemical environments. It’s chemically inert, has low permeability, and has the lowest friction coefficient of any tubing. Just like Tygon tubing, Teflon tubing is commonly used to connect microfluidic instruments and microfluidic reservoirs.
1/16" OD FEP Microfluidic Sleeves (x10): Sleeves are small tubes that slip over a smaller capillary tubing to enlarge its diameter and make this capillary compatible with a fitting designed for larger tubings. The FEP sleeves provided in this kit have an internal diameter fitted to 1/32’’ tubing and a 1/16’’ outside diameter that makes itcompatible with fittings designed for 1/16’’ OD tubing. When used with our 1/4″-28 threaded fittings with Ferrules for 1/16 OD, the principle remains the same as usual, the sealing being done by the ferrule compression on the sleeve, which then compresses the 1/32″ OD tubing to keep it in place.
