General
The SPM Microdispenser is an OEM syringe pump for high-precision dosing in automated microfluidic applications. Its low-pulse flow stream capabilities make it the perfect tool for multiple liquid handling in the range of millilitres down to nanolitres.
Designed for microfluidics, the integrated zero dead volume selection valve is optimized for handling multiple fluids with very low carryover volume. The SPM can be easily controlled and monitored using serial communication protocols or I2C.
The SPM is an OEM device: it can be tailored to your needs upon request.
SPM model | Syringe volume | Min. flow rate | Max. flow rate | Min. dosing volume |
Low-volume syringes | 50 μL | 0.5 μL/min | 1 500 μL/min | 0.1 μL |
100 μL | 1 μL/min | 3 000 μL/min | 0.2 μL
250 μL | 2.5 μL/min | 8 000 μL/min | 0.5 μL
500 μL | 5 μL/min | 15 000 μL/min | 1 μL
1000 μL | 10 μL/min | 30 000 μL/min | 2 μL
High-volume syringes | 2.5 mL | 25 μL/min | 75 000 μL/min | 5 μL |
5 mL | 50 μL/min | 150 000 μL/min | 10 μL |
Warning: 50 to 1000 µL syringes are only compatible with the low-volume SPM Microdispenser. 2.5 mL and 5 mL syringes are only compatible with the high-volume SPM Microdispenser. Low-volume and high-volume syringes cannot be interchanged.
Advantages
The SPM is used for high-precision sampling and dosing, to aspirate/dispense liquids, to dilute samples or reagents, for sequential injection or just to get a near-pulseless continuous flow rate. It can be easily integrated into prototypes or production systems.
- Combines a high-precision syringe pump and a distribution valve: control multiple liquids with one pump
- Optimized flow paths to limit contamination and maximize cleanability
- Excellent biochemical compatibility
- Easy to use and integrate (various external control options)
- Swiss quality
Dead, internal and carryover volumes: The unique valve geometry limits the carryover volume down to 1.5 μL (purple) whereas standard products exhibit up to 50 μL. The exceptionally small channel diameter of 0.5 mm reduces the internal volume down to only 4 μL (blue + purple). There is no dead volume.
High dilution ratio: When rinsing, diluting, or switching liquid, our minimal carryover volume (purple) leads to a maximal dilution ratio with the diluent (blue).
Bubble-free priming: Our unique valve design expels the air from the syringe and valve immediately, eliminating the traditional cumbersome priming procedure.
Fast liquid switching: The zero dead volume selection valve allows to rapidly switch liquid with an ultra-low carryover.
