This compact and versatile inverted microscope from ZEISS has been specifically configured to meet your needs for your daily experiments both in microfluidics and cell culture, including fluorescence observation (470 nm LED). Coupled with a camera, it is a cost-effective yet powerful instrument for fast and efficient experiments.
Microscope with binocular phototube for brightfield, phase contrast and basic fluorescence (470 nm), including a set of 4 objectives (4x, 10x Ph1, 20x Ph1, 40x Ph1), condenser 0.4, object guide and universal mounting frame. All the accessories are included to work out-of-the-box.
Camera C-mount adapter available as an option for common sensors sizes (0.5x and 0.65x). Camera not included.
General
In partnership with ZEISS, Darwin Microfluidics has designed a Primovert setup for your everyday experiments in microfluidics.
This setup comprises the essential features expected for a routine inverted microscope used in the field of microfluidics. It has a small footprint, and yet provides a large space to set your experiment on the stage with a 0.4 condenser (55 mm of working distance, can be removed). The included 470 nm LED enables easy fluorescence observation, for ant label in the range of GFP, FITC, fluorescein, etc. Using the provided object guide, you will be able to find your area of interest and get it precisely in the field of view.
We have chosen a set of objectives with magnification from 4x to 40x, giving you the ability of seeing the common microfluidics objects, like droplets. For better contrast, objectives from 10x to 40x have Phase contrast, sharing a single phase ring (Ph1). It can also be used to check on your cells!
This microscope comes with a binocular phototube, letting you fit a camera, for which we also provide adapters as an option.
Just what you need & easy-to-use
- Benefit from a large working area on the microscope stage thanks to the long working distance 0.4 condenser (55 mm), while keeping an excellent resolution in transmitted light.
- Using Phase Contrast is made easy on this Primovert configuration, as there is a single slider with PH1 for 10×, 20× and 40× magnification. Thus, there is no need to adjust the phase position when you change the magnification.
- LED illumination gives you the benefit of long life and stable colour temperature, without the need for any alignment.
- Using LED also prevents from heating the sample.
- Everything about Primovert is designed to facilitate your daily work. Use the switch on the stand to shift effortlessly from phase contrast to fluorescence contrast.
- You can use various mounting frames and stage adjustment for flasks and multi-well plates..
- Use the free ZEN lite microscope software to control ZEISS microscope cameras, capture images or view your CZI files.
Applications
- Use the nosepiece with multiple objectives to change the magnification 4 – 40×, phase ring.
Primovert has a 4-position nosepiece and we have selected Plan-Achromat (4x/0.10 and 10x/0.25) and LD Plan-Achromat (20x/0.3 and 40x/0.5) objectives adapted to your experiments, with the same phase ring for magnifications from 10x to 40x.
All the selected objectives have long working distance
- Use the microscope over several hours.
In automatic mode, Primovert operates in standby. If the device is not used for 15 minutes, it automatically shuts itself off. Simply press a button to reactivate it.
- Evaluate unstained, transparent samples such as living cells or droplets.
Primovert is equipped with phase contrast. You use a universal phase slider with only two position: BF and PH1 for 10x, 20x, and 40x magnification. There is then no need for adjusting the phase ring position when changing the magnification.
- Excite and observe GFP, FITC or fluorescein.
With Primovert iLED, you can switch between brightfield and fluorescence contrast directly on the stand and evaluate both unstained and GFP-labeled cells.
The LED fluorescence provides even illumination of the sample. You avoid long warming up and cooling down phases as well as lamp adjustments.
- Use the microscope in a sterile or dust-free environment.
Primovert’s compact design enables the microscope to fit into any cell culture laboratory. You can put Primovert straight in your laminar flow hood.
- Use various sample holders.
Primovert comes with an object guide and a universal mounting fame, enabling you to fit different kind of sample holders on the stage. You can use standard microscopy slides, standard format microfluidics chips, but also custom size chips or Petri dishes.
