Idealized Network for 3D co-culture - IMN3 radial chips

These idealized co-culture designs are helpful tools in the organ-on-chip field to mimic cellular interactions in vitro and model several biological systems in 3D. This design is composed of a central chamber allowing 3D tissue culture surrounded by two outer channels, for the modeling of a wide range of cell-cell interactions. 

Description 

The IMN3 Radial organ-on-chip design is made of a central 3D chamber filled with pillars (tissue chamber) and two outer channels. This side-by-side architecture enables the co-culture of different cell types with real-time visualization. These platforms allow the modeling of physiological shear stress and in vivo-like morphology of tissues.

The separation between the central and outer channels can be done with either slits or pillars and are available in several dimensions. In both cases, slits/pillars are spaced at regular intervals to create a barrier between the inner and outer chambers. 

In the central chamber, pillars have a diameter of 25µm and are spaced by 50µm.

Specifications

The chips have the format of a microscopic slide and are made of PDMS bonded to glass.

 For all chips, the chamber is filled with pillars of 25 µm diameter and separated by a distance of 50 µm.
