The Fluidic 1356 chip manufactured by ChipShop is a multi-organ-on-a-chip platform displaying four connected chambers as well as detection ports for sensor integration. The inlets and outlets with integrated Mini Luer connections ensure leak-free junctions to the tubing.
General
This chip is a multi-organ platform featuring a total of four interconnected chambers to establish complex organ-on-a-chip models. Each chamber is equipped with an 8 µm-pore size membrane. The chip has the format of a double microscopic slide (75.5 mm x 50.0 mm) to ensure compatibility with existing laboratory equipment.
- Mini Luer connections molded with the chip: leak-free
- Highly resistant and optically clear material: COP (Zeonor)
- Double slide format
The multi-organ chip displays one large chamber and three smaller chambers. The four chambers are interconnected through the microfluidic circuit on the upper part of the chip, for continuous perfusion. On the lower part of the chip are displayed two additional microfluidic circuits. The first one can be used solely for the largest chamber and the second one ensures connection between the three smaller chambers.
The Fluidic 1356 chip features additional detection ports, compatible with PreSens sensor system, for continuous monitoring of pH, CO2 and O2 within the chip. The SensorPlug displays a Mini Luer interface, an optical fiber for read-out and a specific sensor at the tip of the fiber. It can be interfaced directly in the ports of the chip, onto the microfluidic network for real-time monitoring of the parameters of interest.
In case, the sensor ports are not used, it is recommended to close them with Mini Luer plugs or caps in TPE.
